Helego! Bryan from BrickZen. Just wanted to go into some of the back story of the site.
When my son was born I started seriously becoming interested again in LEGO. As a child LEGO blocks consumed many of the hours that I was awake (I even still have my LEGO collection at my parent's house.... really need to go and get it....), but when I went to college and then started working there were more things that took over my time. I never really stopped playing with LEGO. For my birthday I would often treat myself to a model and enjoy the time building it. Recently though, I started purchasing LEGO "for my son" and rediscovered just how much fun LEGO are! I did a few searches on the Internet and was really surprised to see how vast and expanded LEGO and the LEGO community had become! Conventions and "LEGO Pros", in many countries User's Groups (LUG) and even a fantastic magazine devoted just to LEGO called "BrickJournal!"
Around the same time that I was rediscovering LEGO a good friend also told me that he was "Really getting into LEGO!" We decided to create a site where we could share information and "BrickZen" was born. We want to provide information in Japanese about the many interesting things that are happening with LEGO around the world, and also provide in English information about LEGO that is happening in Japan.
Also, even though there are many incredible LEGO builders here in Japan, there don't seem to be many LUGs here (or maybe I just haven't been able to find them yet) like there are in other countries around the world. Along those lines, we are thinking of starting a new LUG here in Japan and having the first meeting (probably in the Kansai Area) in January some time. If you are interested please let us know!
With this just starting, we don't know how often or how much we will be able to do and post, but we plan to give it out best!
We look forward to meeting, talking and building with many LEGO fans! Play Well!
